President's Message

October 04, 2018

Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in Saskatoon-University EDA (Electoral District Association).

I would first like to recognize the board of 30 outstanding individuals who have let their names stand as members of our Board and Executive. I look forward to working with all of them as we build towards the 2019 federal election.

The Liberals record since winning the last election in 2015, has been very concerning with increased debt and taxes, including a federal carbon tax, lack of support for pipeline infrastructure, lack of structure to deal with the border crossings and a failure to address the grain transportation backlog and the list is getting longer every day.  Liberal priorities are not Saskatchewan priorities.  What we need is a Conservative majority government in Ottawa and a Conservative MP in Saskatoon-University in 2019!

We chose our Conservative candidate, Corey Tochor, for our riding in March of 2018. I encourage all Conservatives in Saskatoon-University to consider, volunteering, taking a sign and/or making a donation your local Conservative riding as we ready ourselves for the next election.  Volunteering can be as simple as making cookies, promoting Conservative values at the local coffee shop or getting involved with door knocking, helping at events or dropping flyers.  There is a place for all within the riding whatever your talents may be.

A main goal of local riding association is to raise funds to prepare for the next election.  We need to make sure that our nominated candidate has the financial resources they need to take on the Liberals. We have fundraising events throughout the year, but a big part of our fundraising needs must be met through donations from individual supporters. When you give to your local riding association, the funds all remain in the riding to benefit the local candidate.

Undoubtedly, the next year will be exciting for both our EDA and our party. I encourage you to check out the website for updates on events and on ways to get involved at the grassroots. We are always looking for new Conservative-minded individuals to participate in our EDA, and we welcome anyone interested in lending a hand or learning more about our association to reach out – especially young adults with a keen interest in politics. We need support and ideas from all age groups to keep our EDA successful.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting you in the near future!

Sincerely,

Judy Blackstock

President, Saskatoon-University EDA
